This Privacy Policy explains how Novella ("we", "our") manages data across our mobile applications and related digital services (Package Identifier: app.novella.journal).

1. Local-First & Zero-Knowledge Architecture

Our applications operate under a strict local-first, zero-knowledge framework. All user-generated content, notes, settings, and personal data remain stored locally on your device. We operate no central servers, tracking databases, or external analytics endpoints that harvest your personal content.

2. Account & Data Deletion

Deleting the application from your device permanently and immediately purges all on-device data and encrypted vaults. Users retain 100% control to view, export, or delete any optional cloud backup archives directly from their personal storage accounts at any time.

3. Third-Party Services

Google Drive (Optional Cloud Sync): If enabled by the user, cloud backups connect directly to the user's personal Google Drive account using restricted file scopes (drive.file). The application never accesses or modifies files outside its designated folder.
Store In-App Billing: Subscription validation is processed directly through Apple App Store and Google Play billing mechanisms (supported by RevenueCat). Anonymous transaction IDs are verified without accessing personal user content.
